Country Stay and Garden
Welcome to Tudor Park Country Stay and Garden, where
guests are offered quality accommodation with private facilities in a peaceful garden setting. Join us and wake to country sounds, walk in the garden or around the property and still be close
to all connections.
Located in the heart of the South
Tudor Park is conveniently situated - a gateway to the
wonderfully diverse natural environments and sights southern New Zealand has to offer.
New Zealand’s southernmost city, Invercargill, is just
20 minutes away. Fly or take the boat to Stewart Island. Drive to or connect to tours for Fiordland, Te Anau or Queenstown. The Southern Scenic Route, linking Dunedin and Fiordland via the
petrified fossil forests and grandeur of the Catlins and Western Southland cost, is close by.
The house and garden
Tudor Park has been refurbished with quality
furnishings and the owners’ antique furniture. Accommodation is comfortable and private: “the best beds we have slept in New Zealand” is a frequent comment from guests. There are three
rooms available with private facilities; one includes a bath as well as a shower.
Dinner with hosts Joyce and John Robins is available by
arrangement and includes home-grown, home-made and locally-sourced foods.
Set in 20 acres of the best fertile Southland farmland,
the garden extends over three acres. Another acre is used to grow peonies for commercial cut flowers. On the remaining pastures, sheep and lambs graze.
Guests are invited to make Tudor Park home; relax in
the garden or use us as your base to visit the many places of interest in the southern area.
Anderson Park Art Gallery
Anderson Park Art Gallery houses one of the country’s best collections of New Zealand art.
Anderson Park was the home of Joyce’s
great-grandparents Sir Robert and Lady Anderson. The house, land and surrounding native bush were gifted to the city of Invercargill by Joyce’s grandfather and his brothers and sisters. Joyce
is past president of the Park’s administering body, the Anderson Park Art Gallery Soc Incorporated, and she is now a Council Member of Anderson Park.
Joyce can provide further details for visiting the park.
